Case in point: The Bufori’s Sequential Shift Transmission (SST). Unlike other
luxury touring cars, the MKIII eschews the traditional gear box as well as the
mass produced automatic transmission.
In their place,
the Bufori provides a system that transfers power seamlessly and continuously.
The SST delivers performance as precisely and as rapidly as a manual
transmission, yet is far smoother than any automatic.
This revolutionary transmission permits the MK III to be driven as a typical
automatic. However, should you desire to shift manually, your preference is
easily accommodated by a simple movement of the gear selector.
With this motion, the Bufori can be driven as a manual with a sequential
shifter. But with a major difference.
For in this mode, the MK III is a clutchless manual. Which means that you can
control the gear shift pattern as with a typical manual transmission, but
without a clutch.
And that makes it impossible to miss a gear when shifting manually. A feature
which permits even the novice driver to shift like a Grand Prix veteran—should
you ever permit a novice driver behind the wheel.
The rear, mid-mounted Bufori fuel injected V-6 engine delivers the spirited
performance one might expect from a great touring car—thanks to an
extraordinarily favorable weight to hp ratio afforded by Bufori’s incredibly
strong, yet amazingly light composite body.
What kind of spirited performance? 0 to 60 in an estimated six and a half
seconds in the conventionally aspirated MK III.
And if that isn’t spirited enough for you, may we suggest the addition of the
optional supercharger which is estimated to elevate hp to over 300--along with a
similar elevation in acceleration. Not to mention the driver’s pulse rate.
And as befits a classic, power is delivered to the rear wheels. Which, of
